Sumud Learning Hive is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all learners, including children and young people.
Self-paced course
The current Sumud Arabic course is self-paced online content. For learners under 18, a parent or guardian should create and supervise the account.
Homework marking & automated tools
Where homework marking is offered, students may upload a photo of their work. To assist tutors, an image may first be analysed by an automated AI tool (Google's Gemini) to draft feedback, which a tutor reviews before it reaches the student. We ask students not to include their name, face or other personal details in homework photos, and a parent or guardian should supervise submissions by under-18s. Parents may ask us to disable automated analysis for their child's account. See the Privacy Policy for more detail.
When live tutoring is added
- All tutors of minors will hold a valid Working With Children Check.
- Sessions involving minors will follow a safeguarding policy (e.g. recorded or observed where appropriate).
- A clear, simple way for students and parents to raise concerns will be provided.
Reporting a concern
Email safeguarding@sumudlearninghive.com.au. Serious concerns about a child's immediate safety should be reported to local authorities.
